Miscanthus and Wild Geese

A fantastic nature print by 18th century artist Hyakki. The poem in the print is a Japanese “wakka” and reads, roughly translated: “To people visited by autumn wind, the season’s tidings are brought by wild geese.” A fantastic autumn subject with the wild geese flying in front of a softly glowing full moon. A quintessential Japanese nature subject.
